September
Past
Written by Michelle Holt
In remembrance of September past
Haunted by the calls to mass
Tears fall from our eyes
We still can hear the cries
The
fateful day when lives were torn
The families taken leaving lives unborn
The men and women who heard the call
They served us bravely one and all
The
lives unsung
The songs undone
The hero in the common place
The lives traded for a nameless face
Oh,
September we will always remember
The innocence now gone
But the heroes journey will stay in our hearts
And with that we’ll carry on
